Frequently asked
- Does Copper AI publish anything on its own?
- No. Everything lands as a WordPress draft for your team to review. Nothing publishes itself.
- Is this a WordPress plugin or an external tool?
- It's a WordPress plugin. Your team works inside the editor you already use. The AI work happens on our servers — you never touch it.
- Which AI does it use?
- We handle the AI layer. Copper AI is model-agnostic — you never manage an API key or a model setting to get value from it.
- What's available at launch?
- Booking Reports — daily jail booking write-ups drafted in the tone your publication already uses, fact-checked against the source, and saved as a WordPress draft. Obituaries, high school sports scores, and community meeting transcription are planned modules.
- How does pricing work?
- One price per module per month, based on the size of your publication. Small (0–100,000 monthly pageviews) is $15/mo or $150/yr. Medium (100,001–2,000,000) is $30/mo or $300/yr. Large (2,000,001+) is $60/mo or $600/yr. No per-seat billing, no overage. Annual is a 17% discount.
- How do I pay?
- Checkout is handled by Freemius inside the WordPress plugin after general availability. There is no checkout pre-launch.
- What does setup look like for booking reports?
- You give us a URL to your municipality's booking feed and your editorial rules in plain English (e.g. include DUIs and felonies; exclude misdemeanor trespassing unless repeat offender). You pick your tone — Straight, Conversational, Formal, or Community-Focused. Our technical team handles ingestion setup if your municipality's feed format is new to us.
- Does it run on a schedule?
- Yes — daily, at a time you configure.
- Will my drafts be cited?
- Yes. Every factual claim is checked against the original source report before the draft is handed to your editor.
- When does general availability open?
- When the first pilots ship. We are not setting a public date until product readiness is confirmed; waitlist members hear first.
- How do you handle our data?
- Source feeds are processed only to draft the article and to fact-check it. We do not republish your source data, and we do not train models on it. Drafts land in your WordPress install and stay there.
- Can I see who else is using it?
- Not yet. Our beta publishers are anonymous by default; we will only feature them publicly with their explicit, individual opt-in once general availability opens.
